Cool Buttons for a tatting project??

I found these interesting Mother of Pearl buttons that I thought might work well with some tatting. Look at the number of holes they have. They are quite pretty (and expensive...or I would have more than 4).
When I first saw the buttons I wondered what Jane Eborall or Marilee would do with them.
I'll be thinking of someway to incorporate them into my tatting.

I'd make brooches with those. I've done one or two patterns for those but they were on 'ornery' buttons and hid the button. These need to show off the button. I've been given some MOP buttons too so I'll race you to get a pattern done. Well, maybe I won't race!!!!
Ooooh, how about bring threads through the holes, adding a bead and then taking the thread back down to continue tatting. Brain cell # 3 is already thinking about this!!!!

I can see a lot of tatters going crazy with these. LOL!

My brain cells are on overload, LOL. I think I have figured out what Jane's plan is...or maybe not! Anyway, I enjoy stuff with holes - these are really cool, Sherry.

What a wonderful challenge idea! I'm always looking for ideas for using unique buttons. I admire all the tatting that I see with buttons incorporated, but I haven't tried using them yet.

Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! What about the center of a snowflake? I can think of two VERY talented snowflake tatters off the top of my head who might come up with an idea!

I love finding things like this that you can tat around and use your imagination with. I'm always picking up buttons or jewelry findings or even stuff for other crafts - got some great little metal squares for scrapbooking once - still haven't done anything with them so I shouldn't crow yet, but yes, what great fun!
