The most exciting day of my life....

Well, o.k. maybe not the most exciting day of my life but it is definately way up there! I love tatting and I love being around fellow tatters.
It is great that the internet has brought us tatters all together. This is only the second time I have physcially been around other tatters and their is no substitution for it! I wish every day was Shuttlebirds!
You get immediate feedback on your tatting queries, you marvel at other's techniques and pick up little tips and tricks. It's like being with a bunch of kindred spirits all packed together.
I recognized a lot of faces from last year and already made some new friends today! Let me just tell you, I am on cloud 9!
I totally needed this little vacation. It's the most fun I have had in a long time.
I took only one class today with Sue Hanson...(I had a feeling I would really like her, but I don't like her, I LOVE her! She is fantastic!), it was a 3 hour class going over "Helma" style flowers. Sue taught me the "hanging cluny" which is really easy, but for the life of me, could not figure it out by the online directions. It just reiterated that I am a completely visual person and need to be shown/demonstrated things.
With that in mind, I think I may work on some little instructional videos kind of like what Linda Davies has recently done. I think Linda did an excellent job and it has inspired me to put something together to teach you all how I do the "Grape Edging" that I have posted about so many times. So look for that in the not too distant future!
Now lets get on to some fun photos!
Everyone pictured gave their permission to be posted on this blog, but I will leave their last names out for their privacy.

My grandparents both came this year to help me out with the sales. They are totally awesome and we are having so much fun just laughing and hanging out together.
I was so fortunate to be able to trade with some of the other very talented artists today. So I walked away today with some wonderful books and the prettiest purse by Karey Solomon. I'll show those items tomorrow.
The tatting in these photos do not have captions because I think they speak for themselves. I believe that some of this is Mary Koniors work. These treasures must be seen in person to be truly appreciated, but isn't that true of all tatting?

I'm glad you're having so much fun at the convention. Thanks for the slide show. It definately gives a sense of being there...but it's still not the same...you're very lucky to be able to go.

I am so glad that your grandparents are getting to spend this time with you. I know that means an awful lot to the three of you. The pictures are great and I can't wait for more.

Oh wow! Photos already! I still haven't edited mine from Hector - but life is busy. Isn't the lacework from Mary Konior fabulous??? And I see Sue's hair is still purple. LOL! Looking forward to what you bring back with you.
