Tatting Thread Journal

I decided to "update" my journal as I move into a new phase of trying to select "permanent" colorways to go into the Etsy shop.
I had previously been keeping notes in a regular notebook that has spills of dyes and waterspots all over it. I thought that I should make a nice reference journal with recipes, photos and samples of my HDT's.
So this is what I came up with. I decorated it with handmade paper and hand dyed tatted bits that I let bleed into the paper.
The butterfly is my orginal "Honor" pattern.
I am working on a new series of dyes and am trying to finish up the next tatting book.
These projects are soooooo time consuming, but you should be seeing a lot coming up in this here tatting blog o' mine.

What a gorgeous journal! You've made your dye samples into a beautiful keepsake.
You would laugh so hard if you saw mine - all I've got is just a scribbled mess with unruly thread snips on a scrap paper writing tablet I got free from a restaurant. Not going to put any photos of it on my blog, LOL.
Yours is a work of art, and will be a collector's item someday!

I love the journal. It is so pretty. Please don't spill dye on it! Can't wait to see all of the new stuff you are working on.

This would be a great idea for tatted samples of motifs, patterns, etc. I really like this.

I love the journal. It's pretty. You could totally sell tatting journals on etsy for people who write, or tat or poets, or whatever. I think it's beautiful. Your butterfly looks especially nice in that thread.
