OUCH!!!!
How does this happen??? I can't even explain it...but it happened in the middle of the night. I must have been having a bad dream or something and flailing about. This is what I woke up to and it hurts like the dickens. I always forget how precious and useful hands are until an injury is sustained.
Fortunately, I can still tat and tatting is what I am doing. I can't show anything yet...but I have been a busy busy tatting bee!

Oops!!! I can totally relate to this, it happens to me all the time, my nails are very very thin! I can imagine how painful it can be... :-(
So sorry to see your injury...take good care of it! I can't imagine how terribly painful it must be. Tatting is great isn't it! I was able to tat after breaking my hand a few years back. Even tho' it healed badly,I can still tat...YES!
Gave me shiver just looking at it ahhhh! so sorry that happened it looks terribly painful. Take care of it and its wonderful you can still tat :)

Ouch, that looks like it would really hurt. Thank goodness it does not interfere with your tatting.
Ouch is right! Hope it heals soon!
Why is it a person can feel maternal towards someone she's never met?( I guess it's just you seem so sweet) I just want to wash that up put some neosporin and a bandaid on that.
Take care and please keep the dye out of that!

It looks like it is painful. Great that it does not affect your tatting, such things always happens when you are busy.
Oh dear, that looks very painful indeed - do take care of yourself! Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Oh my goodness. That looks really painful! Please don't let it get infected! I am glad that you are still able to tat.
Oh Goodness, Sherry, that looks very painful. I hope it heals quickly with no nail damage.
Oh goodness, just when I thought that my fingernails were bad. I'll join the chorus of 'take care of it and yourself.'
Yeouch!! That smarts! Cut that baby clean in two. Wonder what you were battling in your sleep?
Bummer. Makes me think my nails are in very good shape! I can't imagine that you did not wake up. I would've been awake all night after that. Speedy healing to you!
That's a big 10-4 Connie....LOL!
Oh, OW! That's nasty! What do you mean you can still tat? It must be a totally non-essential finger -- and I can't think of one of those. Looks like a candidate for hydrogen peroxide, antibiotic ointment and a princess band-aid.
Just stopped by to say
You won an award on my blog today!
Hope your finger gets better soon! Follow Connie Angeline's advice! That's not a fun place to get an infection, youch!
oh my goodness. that must have been a doozy of a dream.
That looks soooo painful! I hope it gets better quickly!
*runs off to cut her fingernails*
Ouch! Hope it gets past hurting quick!
OUCH! that really does look paintful I did a similar thing a couple of weeks ago and used nail glue to glue it back together (just on the top of the nail) whilst it grew out...it wasnt as low as yours though.
Hope it gets better very soon.
Your blog is lovely...keep up the great work

ewwww that HURTS just to look at, can't imagine. On the pain scale looks like a 10 to me! I hope it gets better soon and I'm amazed you can tat! But glad for you, that you can! Be sure to keep it sterile and not get an infection.

Ouch, I've had that happen to me, before. But I actually got my nail caught on something while I was awake. And it only came about half-off. Oh, it was my dog's collar. She was very hyperactive. So when it healed, the nail was still attached, so the white bit went straight for one half, then tipped halfway down my nail until it grew out!
Oh my, ouch! I hope it is feeling better. I know how it hurts just bending the tip of the nail back. I can only imagine how much your fingers hurts with that kind of damage. DH can kiss the boo-boo and make it better. :)
Thanks for commenting on my test, wishing you the best on the moving in the future.
