Well, this is the name of the course I'll be teaching in April at
Shuttlebirds. Yes, you read that correctly. I am going to be teaching this class as well as one other (one on how to keep your shuttles organized while multi shuttle tatting.) Can you believe it...I am SOOO excited! I have been working really hard. With permission from Hubby I will be leaving Korea about a month before he does....just for the tatting convention!
Riet was correct in the way I tatted this. I started with the star and worked my way down. It was a 5 shuttle job. This is also the way I do my necklaces and flower borders and other things.
I have been tatting this way for two years and up until now didn't know how to describe it!
It is a step beyond what Helma Siepman does with her work, and the possibilities are endless.
So if you want to learn in person! Please consider joining us at
Shuttlebirds in 2009. You have 4 and half months to save your pennies and it is the most excellent time of the year (at least for me).

Very cute! Now, I can put a name to some of my designs too, LOL! If I EVER get them completed...so many tatting patterns in my head...so little time...
Congratulations on your teaching at Shuttlebirds this April! How exciting that will be for you! :)
Sadly I can't even imagine getting to shuttlebirds :( and so for the moment I just have to wonder.
I have problems tatting with three shuttles when I am adding a new thread, and once I tried an edging with three...disaster after about an inch!
Maybe one day... it is a wonderful technique and I have admired the results since the first grape vine.
Absolutely georgous!! WOW!!
How exciting! I sure wish Shuttlebirds had their convention after school gets out! I would love to take a class with you!
Wow! I am very impressed with what you are doing. I'm not surprised that they would want you to teach at Shuttlebirds. Tell hubby thanks for sharing you with the tatting world. I wish I could be there. You have lots of prep work to do and planning that I hope will help your spirits.
Congratulations!
These pieces are stunning! No wonder they asked you to teach! I know you'll have a wonderful time :)
It all looks very exciting, wish I could be there.
I'm so impressed with your work, and congrats on the classes. I especially love all those pieces with the grapes...the colors are wonderful!
Your Christmas tree is beautiful. Hooray, you *do* get to come again this year! See you there!
I am so disappointed that I will not be able to take your class as the dates conflict with a prior commitment. Any chance you will teach the same class anywhere else in the United States next year?
Maggie,
I'm sorry you won't be able to make it. I don't know the answer to your question, but if the opportunity to teach in the future arises I would certainly be iterested.
