The future is snow bright!

There we so many good guesses to where we are going...and some of them I wish we WERE going to....like Switzerland and New Zealand! I've been to both countries and they are as gorgeous as you would imagine.

Jeff was the first to guess correctly. We are going to Alaska which is considered an overseas assignment. We were not expecting it because we didn't know it was an option for us. We are the world's biggest snow lovers and Alaska is a snowboarders paradise. Since English is the spoken language I will be able to understand what is going on around me...(something I have missed whilst living in Korea)....and I'll need to watch out for the bears and the moose, moose's, ....or is it meese?
I am leaving Korea in two weeks so I have a LOT of work ahead of me. I apologize in advance for missing out on blogs and leaving comments and such. Life is going to be in an uproar for me for the next few months...living out of suitcases and wandering from one couch to another. I will be closing the Etsy shop in a few days and it will be closed until after Shuttlebirds. If there is anything you want, now is the time.
I am looking forward to better health and getting my pottery studio back. Korea has not been good for me health wise. I think the only thing I will really miss is my tatting girls. I hope that maybe they can visit me someday in the U.S.
It's been an interesting year and I thank you all for sticking with me on this journey.
...to brighter days....

Aw shucks! we guessed Alaska as soon as you said snowboarding and bears but no way did we imagine that it could be considered overseas!!

Your blog is going to be even more of a delight. Hang in there...good days are coming.

I though of Alaska, but ruled it out because I didn't think of it as being overseas. Funny, because I guessed Canada, and that's even less overseas! I hope you have a wonderful time there!

Hello Sherry Safe travels. WOW, Alaska, Pretty exciting. I also lived in Alaska. I was a bush school nurse and loved every minute of it. I loved the people, the children, the land, the wildlife and on and on. I will look forward to hearing about your adventures in Alaska. Hugs Judy

My Cousin was stationed in Alaska when he was in the Airforce. He loved it! Make sure you go watch/ participate in the spectacle of fishing during the salmon run!

Hi Sherry - I actually guessed Alaska, and even looked up army bases there, but the “overseas” clue confused me, from a ‘stateside’ point of view.. I’m trying to think of the logistics for you at this time, considering you’ll be going to Shuttlebirds first, although it seems ‘convenient’, geographically speaking. I’m trying to imagine someone saying to me “You’re going to live in Hawaii for awhile.” I’d be too excited to concentrate on anything – even tatting! I’d be running around like a nutcase, trying to pack and think of all the details involved, while doing a 'happy dance'. I’m delighted for you and your husband, and hope you’ll continue to share your experiences with us. Your photos from Japan are awesome. How did you get those ‘underwater’ shots? It looked as though you were ‘swimming’ with the beautiful turtle!

Georgia Seitz lived there for quite awhile. I'm sure she can tell you where all the tatting supplies are!

Congrats on the new opportunity! Sherry, remember you lamenting the year '09 seems bad for you? Well, I think that's not true and now this great news about you moving to Alaska. I'm sure more great things will come your way.

All the very best to you and your DH!

P.S. The word verification happens to be 'alots'. How coincidental is that?! LOL.

You will love Alaska! My cousin's husband was stationed there forever. As a matter of fact, he has retired from the Air Force and is back up there doing civilian work. Take care of yourself during the stress of packing and moving.

I have to mime Heather up there that I too would love to live in Alaska, for at least one whole year where I can enjoy the "whole" experience. Well Lucky Ducky, you will have to tell all about your adventures so I can live vicariously through yours! Happy packing and have a wonderful trip to paradise!

Wow !! I guessed Alaska right away - must be wishful thinking. I can't believe you will be in my territory. I've lived here 33 years a LOVE IT. I don't know you well, but get the idea that you will be stationed up her. Where will you be? It's not like you'll be in my backyard, Alaska is pretty big. I would love to meet you in person. Safe Travels,
Cindy in Seward, Aaska
