Saturday's Shuttle
This is a copper shuttle. This is a design that I drew and hand carved into a mold. It will show up a few more times most likely in Silver and perhaps bronze.
The copper is polished with a protective layer. It can also be polished down the road like any other precious metal. Personally I would think the tarnish adds character....but that is just me.
It's beautiful, Sherry. I can see the concern with tarnish because sometimes tarnish can rub off on the thread and dirty it. However, other than that it is absolutely a beautiful work of art!
I live in Ottawa so I'm very fond of the green tinge that copper shingles get as they age. Its a good question though will the tarnish rub off on the thread? Lovely design
You know, Silver tarnishes too. With normal use and storage and an occasional polishing I really don't see tarnish being a problem with any of the pecious metal shuttles.

Gorgeous, Sherry! But your things always are. Have linked to this in my blog....
Very pretty! Will the shuttle retain its copper color? Was it difficult to work with? I'm amazed at what you've been able to make!
Bellissima!
Stoopid question: will this shuttle turn colors (You know how copper turns green?) due to the copper content?
