Another great year at Shuttlebirds

Shuttlebirds was as fantastic as it always is! I am kicking myself for not getting as many photos as I usually do. I have to admit that this year my head was elsewhere. I hadn't been feeling well preceding the conference...didn't feel too great while I was there and still don't. In spite of that it was so great to see old tatting friends and to make new ones and to put faces and smiles to my Internet tatting friends.

This was my booth this year. It is noteworthy to mention that Blathnaid the Lady Leprechaun attended Shuttlebirds with me and she of course helped me with my display. She spent a lot of time running around popping in and out of tatting classes and just generally being a jolly Lep. I won't be surprised if she shows up in a few tatting blogs here and there.

I taught a tatting class each day and am happy to report that both classes were full of wonderful willing students. One of which was this familiar face, isn't she cute?
I was so happy to finally meet my little tatting sister Krystle Dawn in person. Here she is with her finished project. I will be posting this Angel pattern for free next Monday for those of you who were unable to attend the workshop.

...and I have to share Mary McCarthy's absolutely GORGEOUS hats. Truly the photo says it all!

Finally, I'll leave you with a picture of Mojo enjoying the lovely Spring weather we have been having.
..Until next time...

Hope you're feeling better now.
I MUST point out, however, that that's NOT Krystle - that's her alter ego Doctor Threadmore. I'm sure it is but I'll get Sherlock Holmes on the case tomorrow!!!

Ah yes, too bad it's over so soon! Although, my brain was pretty worn out from all the intensive tatting instruction! The drive home was a bear too, so I was pooped upon arrival, but I've come home to the loving family that made it possible for me to leave in the first place :-) Blessings and much rest to you!

So Sorry you didn't feel well during Shuttlebirds, I had a similar experience at Palmetto's ending up in the local emergency room. Very distressing when you look forward to the event for a whole year.
I hope you met S.Fuller at Shuttlebirds as I gave her a package to bring to you, for Blathnaid, that I really thought I had posted long ago and then found in the trunk of my car while I was at Hector Tatting 2 weeks ago.
Your display looks wonderful.

Hope you are feeling better! Krystle is quite the popular shuttle birder! LOL! Isn't she a doll! Those hats are lovely!

Whooo-weee! That is a lot of hand-dyed thread on display. Thanks for posting your photos from Shuttlebirds.

So sorry that you weren't feeling your best!

Rest up as best you can and keep repeating this mantra, "Better days are on the wind, before long I'll be on the mend!" (I just made that up on the spot for you...hee, hee.)

MANY CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND!!! I now know about the upcoming Blessed Event (your NEXT post!!) but wanted to comment here on the Shuttlebirds 'review'.

I can't imagine how you managed to not only travel there but conduct classes. Our group just did two back-to-back weekends here in Western PA, and I was quite tired out from just 'talking' about tatting. I didn't have to teach classes! Of course, I enjoy it immensely, but it takes a few days to 'unwind' AND unpack my displays, but didn't have to travel far.

I enjoyed the photos of you and Krystle together (on her blog)! I immediately thought you look like sisters, before I found out that everyone else agrees! It's quite uncanny!

Also, your display of your MANY HDTs, your shuttles, books, NEW POTTERY, tatting samples - it's all too amazing. You are SO creative and artistic!

We all appreciate your hard work in promoting tatting and your generosity in sharing so many patterns. (A lot of folks commented on my rendition of your treble clef, which is now part of my 'permanent' display.)

I also enjoyed seeing the photo of Mary McCarthy's fabulous hats! Was she there in person?? I'd love to know more about her.

So glad to know the reason for some of your exhaustion. PLEASE, PLEASE, don't overdo. Just relax a bit and enjoy spring and summer.

Also enjoyed seeing MOJO again!

I'm a "wannabe" tatter. I have a book, a video but I'd love to take a class. The closest class I've been able to find is at WEBS in Mass. which is 3 hrs. away and on a week night which would mean a day away from work and a stay at a hotel. If anyone reads this and knows of a class in Vermont, I'd really appreciate the information.

Love your work and your blog!
