Tiny Tatting....Oh how I love thee!

This is another of my free patterns that can be found in my sidebar under "FREE PATTERNS". I decided to tat a book mark in size 100 King Tut quilting thread. When it is finished I'll show it next to a quarter so you can get a size reference. I don't know what it is but there is really something magical about the super fine tatting. On another note, today is my 16 year wedding anniversary. We were supposed to get married in a hot air balloon but at the last minute weather turned sour. So our anniversary gift this year is a ride in a hot air balloon. We won't get to go until next month but I am super excited. I guess the old saying, "better late than never" is appropriate in this situation.

Congratulations on your anniversary! A hot air balloon ride sounds lovely.

I love tatting with the fine stuff too, I wonder why? So delicate?

Happy Anniversary!

I love the finer threads, too, but when I read the tatting blogs I always feel like I'm in the minority. It's good to know I'm not alone. I can't wait to see the finished size of this.

Happy anniversary! I leave the hot air ballooning to you... I don't like heights.

The more I tat with fine thread, the more I wonder what I'll ever do with all the size 10, 20, 30, and 40 I have around the house. I guess I'll just have to keep on tatting!

Happy Anniversary!!! Hubby and I were also married in May......the 24th. But nothing like a hot air balloon being planned here. I`ll be lucky if he remembers!!!

Congratulations! The balloon will be great!

Thanks for the pattern! I do love the delicate look of the fine threads, but my hands and eyes prefer the 'heavier' threads - sizes 50 to 20.

Your silver shuttle is a remarkable feat of engineering, as well as a beautiful work of art! You have been super busy lately!

Congratulations on 16 years! Have fun on the balloon ride. That would have been quite the memorable wedding but it will be a fun anniversary experience, too. My DH and I did a 30 minute ride a few years ago and loved it!
