In the dumps

Hydrangea size 20 Silk
Decided to do a little freestyle tatting as you can tell by the lack of uniformity.  I used the top left image for inspiration.  Anyhow, I think I am going through a mini mid-life crisis even though I am not considered in my "middle life" quite yet.  I've been fighting serious depression for the last few months and I think a lot of that has to do with meds.  Started a new one yesterday so hopefully things will get better soon.
I've just lost my focus and purpose.  I am usually pretty good at finishing things I start, but not lately. I'm having a hard time being interested in anything other than my little one, and everything is a struggle it seems.  I sure hope this fog lifts soon because I know everything suffers when I am sick including this blog and my business.

I'm very sorry that you are feeling down. I have dealt with depression in the past and I know that it can be the pits.
I always find that sunlight and light exercise helps a lot. It helps release all those feel good hormones and also helps to clear my mind... a little escape is always nice.
Hope you feel better soon!
((Hugs))!

I am so sorry to hear you are in the dumps, I wish I could jump over the pond and give you a hug, but I can't. We all go though stages in our life that gets us down, I hope that you can see a light in the tunnel and things improve.
Your piece of tatting looks good and what a lovely colour.
Hope your mojo returns to full power

Love Margaret

Ahhh, I'm sorry you're down, Sherry. I hope the new meds help.
Your free-stylin' is really cute -- uniformity and symmetry are over-rated!

Sorry to hear youre feeling down, depression can be downright depressing! Jess! is right though, sunlight and exercise are vital to battling depression! Sometime depression is in reality just a lack of vitamin D. I thought I was suffering from it and my doctor tested my levels, once I started on a supplement I felt much better!
Your tatting is really cute!
Feel better soon!

I'm sorry to read that you are in the dumps... not a good place to be. Concentrate on your love of family, especially Miss P. The blog and the business are less important than your little one.

Yes, yes, YES! The rest are correct: get outside and get some exercise! Both have a definite effect on your brain chemistry. You have a child? Get the stroller or the bikes or just hold hands and go around the block or down the road. Count bunnies or cardinals; sing a couple songs. (My husband and I had a "9-bunnie" walk last summer.) Has your MD checked your thyroid levels? If not, make him do it.
I've been there, and my best friend is there now. You CAN get through it just one day at a time.

I hope the new meds will work, don't like to think of you feeling down. Miss you when you don't blog regularly.

Yep, I have been offline with blogs for a while due to much the same affliction. I'm sorry that you are feeling this way and I do understand. Unfortunately I find for myself that not much helps other than time and muddling through. For some reason hot weather makes me feel worse, I don't know how it is for you. Life is just plain difficult sometimes and I can't be the Pollyanna on this one. All I can do is wish you well and hope you feel better soon. The only thing soothing to me when I am depressed is favorite books I have read a hundred times over.... Keep yourself involved in something, if you can... write me if you feel like it! I'll write and catch you up tomorrow since I have slacked for so long!

Just realised you do tatting Margaret. I did it a bit when my kids were little - I even had a home made brass shuttle (made by my husband who liked to tinker) but it went missing over the years. Been thinking about picking it up again for a while so will now have somewhere for inspiration.
