I'm trying, I'm trying...

I am desperate to feel better. I am weak, underweight, bruise easily and thoroughly exhausted all the time. I suffer headaches, sore throat and odd unexplained joint and muscle pain here and there.  I have neurocardiogenic syncope which causes extreme dizziness and fainting spells, so I am nearly fainting at least a dozen times a day which adds to my tiredness. (With bio feedback I have been able to keep from completely passing out like I used to.)  All this has either led to or been caused by severe depression.  I don't know what came first.  This has been going on to varying degrees all my life since early childhood. I've had enough already!
Doctors have been pretty useless and my blood tests aren't showing anything but a vitamin D deficiency.
So I have been working really hard these past few months researching various diseases, syndromes and conditions.
I have tried homeopathic methods before to little or no avail but I'm going back to nature once again for one last desperate attempt..  Prescription drugs are just not helping.
Here are a few facts about myself.  I have always been a healthy eater, no fast foods, no sodas, no prepackaged foods etc.  I don't have food allergies. I do have a sweet tooth however.  I exercise, unless I feel so terrible I can barely get out of bed. I've been through counseling.  I am blessed with a husband and daughter who I love and am loved by. I have a spiritual life. I make it a point to not dwell on negative things. I try to do all the right things so what the heck is wrong with me?

Here is what I have been doing and/or plan to do soon.  I have been juicing fruits and vegetables everyday and eating raw and whole foods.  I am going through a parasite detox and a heavy metal detox. I'm taking multi-vitamins, supplements, flax oil, coconut oil, fish oil, and probiotics.
Considering amino acids and L-tryptophan.
I can say that this regimen is not affordable nor sustainable so I hope I can find something that works for me definitively and soon!

I know there are so many others out there stuck in a similar situation.  So I promise to follow up if I find anything that helps.  In the meantime continued thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated.
Blessings on all of you who take time to read my little blog!

Please consider having yourself tested for Pyroluria. It's a *very* easy to treat condition that isn't yet recognized by many main-stream allopathic physicians but there's lots of information on it once you start looking. In a not-very-accurate nutshell, with Pyroluria the body can't retain/utilize (don't remember) B vitamins well, and one of the symptoms of Pyroluria is depression. Once I started on the pyroluria treatment protocol (extra B vitamins and Zinc), I was able to throw away the anti-depressants. And that's after 30 years of depression and 15+ years on anti-depressants.

There's a quick and easy saliva test specifically to test for pyroluria, and you'll know...

Hang in there!!

My daughter was very impressed with the treatment she received when she consulted a kinesiologist; not something I really know anything about, but it's non-invasive and I suppose it couldn't hurt to try.

Oh I am so sorry to hear you are ill! You will definitely be kept in our prayers!
I'm not sure, but you might want to be tested for auto-immune disorders as well. Lupus can have some very strange symptoms sometimes as we'll as MCTD. Praying you are well soon!

I have been suffering some of the same & other symptoms for a year & a half now & today am seeing a new doctor which I am hoping will be a good move. The doctor I have been seeing is into natural health which I truly believe in but it hasn't been helping me. Anyway, I am sorry you are having to deal with these symptoms. I will add you to my prayer list.

Sounds like you're being proactive about your health, which is good. Doctors are not the be-all end-all they'd like to be, so I hope you can find something that will inspire one of the health care providers. I know it doesn't help, but at one point my mom was hospitalized for what they told us was probably bone-marrow cancer. They were doing all kinds of tests but nobody thought to check her blood sugar. Sure enough, one of the doctors on rotation had been working with diabetic patients on one of the reservations and said he thought her symptoms looked like neglected diabetes. HE ordered the blood tests; he was right; easy fix. I hope you find your easy fix, Sherry!

Interestingly, I was going to suggest low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) which is the opposite of diabetes. It seems to be ignored by the medical community. I must eat my main meals on time and have healthy snacks in between, and include protein to keep blood sugar level up. Sure hope you find some answers. We are all thinking of you.

Really sorry that you have to live all this. I was watching silently (like a lot of users) your beautiful littel world and definitelly this does not fit.
My husband had almost the same. I got better when someone had the idea to check the amount of vitamin B12 in the blood. Like this they dicovered that the intrinsec factor was no longer there (it is responsible in the methabolism of B12 at stomach level) and the vitamin could not longer be produced/processed.
There is a chain: no B12, no iron, than not enough oxygene at the cell level, especially the brain.
Dietmar has every 3rd month an injection of B12 and we have it all controlled. No more fatigue, faintinglike syptoms, no sleepy fingers anymore (it was going to the shoulder).
I know it may be stupid, but I hope it helps.
A big hug from Tenerife,
Corina

Have a quick look at Fibromyalgia, if you haven't already. It seems to have similar symptoms to what you describe, and is chronic and can start in childhood. Cheers, Lesley S
