More of Granny's tatted goodies

This big yellow Tatsy shuttle also made it's way back to me. My Gran tatted a lot in the 80's and I wonder if this shuttle is a product from that era?
I have saved the best for last. This is a table runner that gran not only tatted the edging for but she did the embroidering too! It is about 3 feet long...and it is really awesome! I need to get it cleaned and pressed...that is, if and when I get comfortable doing so.
Here is a close up.
....We took over 500 pictures in Vietnam so it is taking me awhile to get them all organized. I will share them with you little by little and here is the first.

Yup...those are my tootsies soaking in the rays. About 5 days in to our vacation I noticed that my ears were no longer oozing yucky fluid and my throat stopped hurting. I danced around in joy shouting at DH, "This is the first time in 9 months that my throat hasn't been sore Whoo Hoo!" and wouldn't you know it....one hour after landing in Seoul the throat and ears started hurting again.
Today I am absolutely miserable and DH feels yucky too! I am soooo convinced that I am allergic to Korea. So now I look at this picture and try to imagine myself back on the beach...it helps a little.

Love seeing some of your grandma's tatting. Sorry you aren't feeling well again, but glad you got a little break while on vacation. Enjoy your pictures too.

The table runner is beautiful! What fun to have an old Tatsy shuttle! Believe it or not, I love my Tatsy shuttles. I feel a little awkward when I start using them, but I love the fact that I have fewer ends to hide.

I'm sorry you're not feeling well. Korea sure has been rough on you. Hopefully, you'll be home soon and back to your normal self.

Hi Sherry
Glad you're back, I've been missing your blog. But sorry to hear you're feeling so rough. Yes those large Tatsys were around in the eighties , but knowing I was tatting at the same time as your gran makes me feel opld. My eldest Grandie is only 9

That runner is gorgeous! I've laundered a lot of vintage tatting/needlework/linens and looked great after they were done. Email me if you want more info on how I do it.
I'm so glad you have inherited those precious items!
It sounds like you had a fabulous time in Viet Nam!
Gosh, I hope you are able to get out of Korea soon! I think you mentioned before that you are allergic to Korea, I think you're right! That sounds awful, poor girl! Glad you made it back safe and sound, though! :)

Love the runner! She did a beautiful job on both the embroidery and the tatting. I have a Tatsy shuttle. I tried it I (in the 80's)and found it so HUGE! I keep it incase I want to try some realy large thread/yarn/cord. The picture from your vacation makes me want to go too! Glad you had a few days of relief.

I love Tatsy shuttles and it is so special that you have your Gran's. I know how much you loved her and still do. The table runner is a wonderful treasure. You are very blessed to have these things. I am so sorry you got sick again when you got back. At least you had a nice, sunny, no sore throat break!
