Motif #7 of the 25 Motif Challenge and more old family photos...

O.k. here is the final draft of "Bleeding Heart". It may look similar to the first draft but let me tell you, I have tatted about 15 variations until I was satisfied with this version. I tried a teardrop bead as tattingchic suggested but it wasn't the right size so I didn't care for it in the end. Although if I can find proper beads I will try them again. I am counting this as #7 for the 25 motif challenge. I am doing the challenge again this year, but this time I am doing 25 motifs all in hand dyed thread. The bleeding heart was tatted in silk size 20 "DARK PINK" HDT, along with plain white silk and cotton size 20 in brown.

"COLUMBINE"
Here is another new hand dyed tatting thread (HDT). It is a colorway on the softer side.
Would you like to see some more old photos??? Here you go....
This is my great grandfather. He died of alcoholism when my grandpa was only 14. Such a shame.
Here is another picture of my great gran Maude. I think this is a great photo.

...and this one is priceless...this is my great aunt and uncles at Christmas time. I love the wedding photo of my great grandparents on the wall in the background.

Hope you enjoyed them...I have lots more to come.

It's a pity that handsome guy died so young. The middle picture is like a painting. Waht a great way to spend your time waiting to go back to your roots. Finally, I'm glad that you are up and about dyeing more new colorways. I have yet to dye, errr fabrics now but need to soon for a lap quilt for the eldest niece.

I think your bleeding hearts look great, and I love the new HDT!

I think I'm going to have to get together with my sister this summer. She's the keeper of the family photos. Wouldn't it be fun to label all the pictures and make albums for all our children?

You've inspired me again, Sherry!

I LOVE old photos! I have one of my great grandmother sitting in the doorway of their log cabin and my grandma was standing behind her as a nearly 2 year old. There were 13 children in the family and my grandmother was the 11th. I love this one with the Christmas tree!

The bleeding hearts are perfect. No changes needed at all. Will you be making the pattern available for sale? I would love to try it.

The vintage photos are so interesting to look at. Whenever I visit my mother, we pull out the albums and look at them. It never gets old. That is such a shame about your great-granddad. Unfortunately, alcoholism has taken many of my family members, too.

I love the last photo of Christmas, and the little boy hiding his face.
reminds me of my son.
your bleeding hearts are great, can't wait for the pattern.
Will you offer it on Etsy or put it in a book?

The bleeding hearts look so pretty! I hope you can find just the right sized teardrop bead.

Your great grandpa is so handsome! How sad that he died when your grandpa was so young.

That pic of the children around the Christmas tree is absolutely adorable!!!

The photos are great, We have very few of our family.... You are lucky, indeed, to have these as documents of who went before.
