Latest HDT and before and after renovation pics...

Added some new and old colorways of HDT (Hand Dyed Thread) to the shop. My hands are still cramping from the workload....I have come to the conclusion that I must be some sort of big whimp. Anyhow, I have wound around 100+ skeins in the past few days.
"MIDDLE EARTH"
This is a silk only colorway and it is in my top 5 favorite HDT's.
"TROPICANA"
This is not new but I had been out of size 20 for quite awhile. This colorway takes a lot of work so that is what took me so long to replace it.
"ROYALTY"
This isn't new either but I haven't dyed this colorway in quite ahwile. This is a very dark and saturated colorway...even more so than the photo portrays. It is also a bit tricky to achieve this level of color saturation.
"PASTEL RAINBOW"
This IS a new colorway but not a very original name LOL! It's very soft and pretty.

This is the big project that I mentioned I was working on. I am re-doing what used to be the guest bedroom. Since we rarely ever get guests I decided to put the room to better use as my....WAIT FOR IT..... tatting room! UH HUH! You heard me right! Whoo hoo!
What is the sense in having a room that you keep perfect and never use in the occasional event someone comes to visit? Besides, it will still double as guest quarters as long as those guest don't dare steal my tatting...LOL!
The former owners used this room as a child's room, so as you would expect, there were all kinds of stains in the carpet and holes and marks on the walls...that kind of thing.
I really wanted to get this room finished before our belongings arrived...(the date of which keeps getting pushed back...but that's another story). So all by myself, I painted the walls a lovely "Fresh Spring" green, ripped out the carpet, the carpet padding, the million bazillion staples in the floor and then sealed the floor. Next was the tedious installation of the bamboo flooring. It really isn't a bad project when someone is helping you, but doing it alone sucks big time!
It was all worth it in the end though. I love that it's a hard wood but from a renewable source...and isn't it pretty? ...and it is not expensive...BONUS!

All I have left is the trim...but I will wait for help on that project.
What do you all think?

...oh...and that little furry kid in a cat suit is Raku...I think he aproves!

Where do you go to get your bamboo flooring?

You can find it at Costco and Home Depot...I'm sure several other places too.

Whatta great job!!!! I have to admit I prefer carpeting for myself but wood or wood-appearing flooring is becoming very popular. I grew up on concrete and linoleum floors...too cold for me!

Well, very cool! I love the new floor! Raku looks so cute peeking out the window! Lucky you to have a tatting room! I need one in a really bad way! Tatting seems to have taken over my whole place, LOL! Oh, well, I guess I don't have anyone else to blame for that but me!

I have a lace room too! Except that I still end up making most of my lace in the salon... I like the bamboo floor you put it. Isn't hard wood and/or bamboo the greatest?

WOW! WOW! and doubly WOW!!!!! You put that floor down all by yourself. It is beautiful. My husband and I put down hardwood in our home--the nail down kind. That was extremely hard work. Your husband will be so proud of you when he gets back. Enjoy your new lace room--you deserve it.

Wow, I am so impressed! I love that shade of green with the flooring! I just showed it to Dave and said you had done it all by yourself and got the "Don't get any ideas" look :) LOL

It's beautiful, Sherry! How lucky to have a whole room you can devote to tatting. The occasional guest should feel privileged to stay there. You did a great job with the floor, and it all looks very cheerful.
As for all that thread. Waaaaaaa. I buy HDT then am afraid to use it. I've got to get over that and MAKE something so I can buy more, eh?

You Go! I'm so proud of you, painting, renovating. My daugther and her girlfirend put down Lorna's bamboo floor two ~ it is easier with two. I'm impressed. I love that look. And spring green is so refreshing. I've heard a rumor that my room is being painted this summer...and my choice for 3 walls is spring green, and a watery blue for focal wall ~ then dressing area is spring green again, all with cream trims. I think it is wonderful that the young women of today are so accomplished in many areas.
Love and hugs, Bev (grandma)

PS I love Middle Earth too..especially when the colour way has a real change from the light to the dark! Lovely HDT.
Boy, I use MINE....love those silks. LOL

Wham, bam and thank you MA'AM! You did a knock-out job on that room renovation. It looks great! And the fresh, calming green mirrors MY ENVY at having a whole room to devote to tatting. Lucky you!

Love the name Middle Earth too -- such a lovely colorway.

Anyone who can wind 100 skeins WITHOUT cramping up, please stand up. You're a superwoman, not a whimp. *big.hugs* (plus a hand massage)

Hi there, girly friend! I just came back over to say thank you for entering my giveaway! Good luck to you!
You inspired me, you know, back when you had your 50,000 visitors giveaway! I decided right then and there I was going to do it, but I thought it would take a lot longer for me to get there than it has, LOL! Woo Hoo! Thank you for all your support! ((Hugs))!
