The renewing of my soul...

I decided to drop everything and go back to Oregon with my hubby for his last week of training. I am soooo glad I did. I have been on "vacation" for three days and I can't believe how relaxed I feel. We stopped by Crater Lake and then did a day trip out to the Oregon shore via the National Redwood Forest.
Can you believe the size of this tree? Apparently it is somewhere around 1200 years old.
This is the view from the room we are staying at during DH's training. I wish I could afford to golf, but I guess I'll just sit on the deck and watch.
This is where I let all my cares wash away with the waves.
I'm thinking that maybe my dog is having the best time of all.
Can you see my dog swimming in the surf?

I did bring my tatting so I do plan to tat this week...Whoo hoo! This is just what the doctor ordered.

Ah yes, tatting is good for the soul!

That view doesn't hurt either.

Ahhh, Oregon is a wonderful place to vacation! I'm glad you're getting a break WITH hubby and time to tat.
Oh, yeah -- this is a wiggle car: http://tinyurl.com/mkte79
You sit on the red part, put your feet up on the black spots then wiggle the steering wheel gizmo back and forth, which makes the car go. No pedaling, pushing, motors or anything. I gotta tell you though, it looks better under kids than adults (but works for adults, too).

Oh, I could virtually 'feel' myself there; don't you love the 'hush' of the redwoods? And I love the area around Seaside and Astoria. When I learned I had cancer a third time, DH took me on an extended trip up the CA/Oregon Coast. We visited all the places we lived when we were first married.
I thought, at that time, that it was my last view of the places I loved.
I hope to go again to scatter my daughter's ashes where she first began her life as a child. Happy Memories.
It really is a 'healing place"
love, Bev
