"MOJO" is here...

The newest HDT is listed. I think it's pretty spot on and Mojo seems to love his namesake thread as well.

"MOJO" hand dyed tatting thread

This little guy is proving to be super smart and is picking up words right and left. So that means I am going to have to clean up my language...GASP!! Yes, I confess I have a tendency to swear sometimes.....well I do come by it honestly...I mean, my mother (bless her) has the mouth of a sailor. LOL!
I do not want a swearing bird...so I have been coming up with "alternative" words and I need some help.
This is what I have so far: "Fruit", "Fruitin" "FruitLooper", "Dad Blasticals", "Fudge Bucket" and all forms of the the word "Goob".
What do you guys say when the moment just calls for some kind of expletive? I am very interested and might even publish the funniest ones and maybe I can help others clean up their language too.

I'm safest if I just growl - I come by it honest too. My sweet dad could "weave a tapestry of profanity." So we are in the same boat, there isn't anything cute about a cussing bird OR toddler!

I know! We could try "Serenity now!" like George's dad on Seinfeld.

The thread is beautiful! I think it's a "must have"!

My colorful language: criminy Dick, fudge, crikey, son of a buck, crud, cripes, for the love of Pete, dag nab it... all learned from my wonderful mother! Dad would say hell or damn once in a while, but I really never heard swearing when I was growing up. I got quite an education when I went away to college!

I had to clean up my act when my nieces came to live with me. The littlest one liked to repeat anything I said. So, in the car it has become "you extremely poor, bad driver" and around home my favorite is "rats, mice and chickenfeet!"

When my blue-fronted Amazon, 'Junior', and bronze-winged Pionus, 'Wingnut', were little, Junior would amuse himself by playing around with word combinations. One of the words he came up with was a contraction of Wingnut's name and his own nickname (June-bug): Bugnuts! So, when I remember not to use the real 'bad' words: Bugnuts!, it is.

My Mom swore that her string of words used when she was frustrated, "made things work!" Then she told ME that only those with a limited vocabulary swore.
LOL Typical parent thinking.
My fav word since I was a kid was "Oh, fish balls."
I did say ship high in transit once, and received an F for a semester of PE in 1953. My mother said of that word, "I would have in my hand, what you just had in your mouth." I know I was horrified when my eldest, Lori (a free spirit of the 60's) had a mouth like a truck driver. It was kind of an 'in' thing to do, much like "Tats now days."

My favorite starts with "fudge", progresses to "fudgesickles", and culminates with "flying freakin' fudgesickles"!
Means nothing, but it does help let off some pressure in a very satisfactory way!

I used to have a African ringneck parakeet which was much like your Mojo in personality. I envy you your baby, but don't have time now to give one the proper care, and we have 3 cats! He even taught my parakeet to talk. It was fun to hear Drake saying things, echoed by a little voice from Tweedlebug a few octaves higher! Keep the pics and stories coming, please!

This is a long story, but I think it's amusing. As a teenager back in the early '60s I couldn't bring myself to even THINK swear words, let alone say them. (I have no problem with that today!) But for some reason as a tension reliever I started saying "Gunga Din". I have no idea why. I just liked the sound of it, which I knew was the name of an old 1939 Cary Grant movie. (At that time I didn't even know what the movie was about!) Here's the amusing part. When my brother and his wife bought a kitten in the '70s, I thought 'Gunga Din' would be a cute name just because I liked saying it! Amazingly, he became a 'show' cat and eventually became a Grand Champion and sired many kittens! Everyone thought my name for him was so clever, because as it turns out the movie (based on a Rudyard Kipling poem) is set in India near Himalayan mountains, and my brother's cat was a Himalayan cat! It was all a coincidence, but I just let everyone think I was brilliant!! (I was amazed, myself, when I discovered the 'connection'!) Also The cat was appropriately a blue-gray color, like the mountains! Apparently the name means 'water carrier.' (BTW, in the movie it sounds like "Dean", but I just pronounced it "Din".

Love MOJO and the thread color!

MoJo is just so cute and your thread of course too. I try to stick with "oh shoot" but sometimes you know the slip of the tongue......

How did I miss this post? Funny!

My best is probably "Fruitcake", although you might here the occasional "Oh my stars" or the ever classic "bull squanky!"

"Oh, for the love!" says one of my co-workers, and now we've all picked it up.

"Son of a biscuit!" I learned this one from a patient.

"Son of a mother!" This one is from the Spanish phrase that translates literally to exactly this. It's actually quite rude in Spanish, but it's not so bad in English.
