**** CUSTOM Hook Pens **** Whoo Hoo!

MAKE YOUR VERY OWN HERE.

Since I made my very first Hook Pen I have wanted to do Customized Pens and some of you have even emailed me with suggestions. I had to wait for an order of white pens to arrive (took forever...and they are more expensive than the colored ones...go figure).

I experimented with a custom hook pen/shuttle set for Suneeti pictured above. I created the image on the hook pen from some of my own actual tatting.
Whaddya think?
Anyhow, the possibilities are endless. You can choose your image and your hook size for your very own unique Tatting Hook Pen.

On another note: I got the estimate back from the company who is supposed to recovery data from my damaged hard drive. They quoted $645 and that does not include the brand new hard drive I had to buy to replace the old one....that's another $169.....Oh and that doesn't even guarantee full data recovery.
I'm thinking this is totally OUTRAGEOUS...and there is no way I can afford this expense...especially with Christmas around the corner.
I will need to come to terms with losing everything. 13 years of photos, travel, family, special writings, tatting books in progress (yes I had some more books nearly ready to publish) music...everything.
I am numb just sitting here in a state of shock.
I can't wait for 2009 to be over with...it sure has been one tough year!

oh Honey, what devastating news, I wish I were a wee bit wealthier ~ I'd front the money. I don't get the 'no guarantee' though; since they have cajones enough to ask for that kind of money! I'm just sayin' hugs, Grams

the "couple" love gorgeous! what nice idea to have them in the same look?!

hey sherry, if u r going for the recovery of the harddisc, have faith. in most cases, these repair people need to cover the "asses" and they had to prepare u for the worst case scenario.

thanks for dropping by my blog. :)

Hi there! I like your idea of the custom hook pens and the whole matchy matchy thing going on there with the shuttle. Very cute! I am one of those that love Matchy~matchy stuff and I'm totally okay with that and okay with the fact that some people are not okay with that, LOL!

Anyway, what a total bummer about your loss! Gosh, I wish there was a simpler, less expensive way to get it all restored. Wish I could help in some way.

Don't you know any of those all knowing computer geeks who could do it for less? That really is OUCH for this time of year. I guess you have to decide what is more important and if you can do it at another time when you can save for that expence.
Your 'combo' idea totally rocks!

I was just thinking the same thing as TAT19540! I know a guy who recovered my hard drive data once (gratis), but he lives on the other side of the US from you.

If you're going to lose it anyway, why not let one of your geeky pals give it a try? If they could recover even one thing, it would be a blessing. (a Christmas miracle?)

Also, waiting awhile to attempt data recovery might buy your more options. (another FAB suggestion from TAT 19540)

Woo Hoo! Your customizable hook pens ROCK! Henna designs...I'm thinking henna designs...

If there is a college or university fairly close to you, try calling and seeing if a computer class could give it a go. There might still be a charge but I'm certain it would be less. I've heard of people being told their data wasn't recoverable and then some friend of a friend or neighbor or teenage friend of their kid managed to find it. Think positive!

13 years of photos and patterns are a very valuable commodity. Can you think about it for awhile? Maybe ask around for other quotes. I'm choking on the cost too!

I love the idea of your customizable pen hooks. From a guy tatter's view (possibly just my own) I many of your other ones kinda "girly". They were pretty though.

As for your hard disk recovery, I'm actually impressed that the quote was only $645. I've seen estimates into the thousands. For those balking at the price of HD recovery, it isn't really meant for the average consumer. More for companies you can afford this kind of cost. I wish I lived closer to you since I am a computer geek. If you want you can send me an email and maybe I can help.

Gorgeous hook pens, Sherry!

As for the computer, why not get another estimate? Or go visit Jeff!

I can attest to the fact that the set is absolutely lovely and a great idea. Good luck with the hard drive.
