Baby steps...(pun intended)

I started on a new medication one week ago. It is what chemotherapy patients use for nausea. It doesn't work all the time but I have been able to keep some food down which has resulted in my belly finally sprouting. It literally happened over night. I had all kinds of cramps and growing pains one day and the next day I woke up with a baby bump....finally!!!
I had one good day this past week and I thought I was through all this and then things reverted back to icky. So I guess I'll take the good days when I can get them and muddle through the bad. Standard.
DH was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis which may end his military career. Everything is up in the air as far as our future is concerned. (No stress there right?) Worst case scenario is that we are dumped into this current economy without jobs. Also, it is official that our home is now worth less than we paid for it. So we are joining the thousands of Americans who are in the same situation. It figures that all this would have to happen as we are bringing new life into the world.
..and finally it looks like I have developed hyperthyroidism during this pregnancy which would explain why I am not gaining weight.
Fun fun fun!
On a lighter note I was able to pay some attention to my tatting shop and we are now up to date on tatting thread supply. I hope to add hook pens and tatting shuttles as I start to feel better day by day...or moment by moment.

I want to thank everyone for all the kind words of encouragement. I really do treasure each and every word. Your kindness is buried in my heart and when I am strong enough again I will share that with others!

OK, now the way I see your situation is that you're down at the bottom with everything going wrong. So, having surmised this - there's only one way to go now and that's UP. You're feeling a bit better, hubby knows now why he's been so ill, work will be fine as you're both hardworking people, the house prices WILL go up again in time etc, etc. So, what I'm trying to say is keep smiling and crafting. These activities will keep all three of you sane.

Baby Bump! How very exciting!!
I am thinking that very very soon you will be over this blip in the road and able to enjoy all the wonder and delight of your condition. This is your season, Sweetie!
How wonderful to be young and in love and expecting a little artist of your own...
God's Blessings to all three of you!!

I'm glad you've been able to have a little bit of time feeling better. I agree with Jane... everything should look up from here on in. When I'm feeling down, I think of Bing Crosby... "You've got to accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative, latch on to the affirmative, and don't mess with Mr. In-between!"

Even one good day is something to celebrate! If you've had one, you can have another one, and you will soon.

Don't worry about the price of your house; you bought it to live in. And the economy, like life in general, can only get better, and vets are still sought-after employees. So everything will cycle back up.

That is good news indeed! As my daughter, who must have been taking the same strong medication for her twin pregnancy, said, it just takes the edge off - so you can function.
I think I have said this often and loudly - "sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof". Don't worry about what "might" happen - take it all a day at a time, and concentrate on your own, and your husband's health. That is enough for now.

The man I live with has Ulcerative Colitis, it arrived when he was in his thirties and suffering from a highly stressful work situation. It became so bad that he was forced to give up work, and that is when he moved to France. Living here his problem has gone into remission and only when there is a problem does he get "twinges". They had suggested he needed a colostomy...but giving up work was enough. (His son also developped UC, and has also improved with a change in lifestyle.)
Can he get invalided out of the army?
What ever happens, I am sending positive thoughts since the beginning...didn't comment because I had nothing useful to say, lol, I have been pregnant, three times, but can't objectively remember much, except that I was glad when it was over...
So sorry about the thyroid, but grateful that you live in the 21st century and that effective treatment exists.
Dear Sherry, I hope today goes well, hugs.

Baby bump! HURRAY! If that is not a sign for your topsy-turvy situation turning around, then take away my Internet, shuttles, thread and beads.

The pendulum swings slowly back and forth. So good things are coming to you!

My kids are grown, but I never thought I be in this situation either. I am convinced that it's happening to make me/us stronger, and things will actually be better in the long run. There is a reason for these life things - stay positive and enjoy today's blessings :) It all comes together in the end!
