Now that I've started I can't stop tatting....

I don't have my scanner anymore so my pictures are pretty lackluster. Please bare with me. This is a super sized sneak peak at a new way to do dimpled rings shown to me by fabulous Sue Hanson. I started experimenting a bit with her technique and came up with something kind of exciting. I will share very soon after I've had a chance to consult with Sue.

Also speaking of Sue, she generously gave me some English tatting thread while we were at Shuttlebirds:

Isn't it nice?

I've read about dimpled rings, and I think I tried them once a long, long time ago. But if I did, I have nothing to show for my efforts! I'm sue I just tried them with some thread left on a shuttle. I can't wait to see what you're up to! The thread reminds me of Neopolitan ice cream... it's a little early in the morning to be having those thoughts!

The threads from Sue are lovely!

I can't wait to see what the surprise is. I like the way your dimpled rings look. I hope you and Sue will share the secret. Mine never look like that! The thread is lovely and that was very generous of her.

Strangely enough, that is very much like the colour of the thread that someone was asking me about ...

I received a request to finish a piece of edging by someone who doesn't tat. She received the unfinished piece from her Aunt and wanted to finish it so that she can give it back to her aunt as a going away present. She showed it to me a few days back and it is a very pretty one shuttle edging that is not difficult to do.

But the piece was started over 30 years ago, so I sort of guessed that it was using Coats thread. I told her that it would be difficult to get an exact match for the thread size and colour. She called last night to say that she is still looking for the thread.

Pamela,
I do like the thread, it reminds me of Flora.

Jon,
Which thread are you referring to?

Ooops... didn't realise that I did not say which thread. It is the ball of green Coats #20.
