Tatting R.O.B update and experimental tatting

This is Gina's June mystery motif....as you can see, this is an experimental piece and is far from perfect. The object was to get that swirly effect as shown in the orginal picture.
For the sake of time I only tatted the inner section. I also tatted the center as a double ring rather than a ring and a chain. The arrows shows where I finally reached success. I used "reverse tatting"(RT) aka "direct method tatting" for the inner ch 4ds, then tat the ring and back to tatting regular chain for the 9ds p 4ds.

This is just one way to get this effect.
