"Limbo Land" really sucks!

Well....still nothing has changed in our current state of purgatory. My hubby is still stuck in Korea...we were hoping he would be back for our 13th wedding anniversary. (In the last 10 years we have only spent 3 anniversaries together due to military service.)
My truck was supposed to be repaired this past Monday but the damage is so extensive that it is STILL in the shop nearly two weeks after the accident. I'm biding my time until we hear some kind of news what our future holds. My whiplash/headaches have gotten worse but the doctor said that is to be expected.

I don't know if I blogged about this already but while I was in Korea we had family members take in our kitty "Raku". About a week and a half into our Korea tour we received frantic emails concerning our cat. Anyway, to make a long story short our kitty lost a leg. It was a very stressful and helpless time being so far away that I do believe the stress of the situation coupled with moving to a new country was the catalyst for my long illness.
Anyhow, a year and $2,000 dollars later I am reunited with "Raku" my 3 legged kitty.
He has been such a blessing to me these last two weeks. He follows me everywhere with his funny little hobbling and is so snugly....I think he knows I need a little extra love'n right now.
Thank the Lord in heaven that I decided to kennel my dog the day before the accident or she would have been seriously injured. I don't think I could have taken that on top of everything else. But I am missing her as I am stuck waiting for my truck to be repaired. She too is always so sweet to me when I am down.

You can see that he has just the one leg in front. He gets around pretty well for which I am grateful. But in my absence he has also grown quite rotund which heeds his mobility...so I have put him on a diet and he isn't very happy about it.

I hope that the next post will be full of good news and soon! Because life is super lame right now!

I am sorry things are still so bad. Waiting has to be one of the hardest things man has to do. I hope hubby will be home soon, wherever that ends up being. Cuddle up to that sweet kitty and get well. I know your dog will be glad to help you heal when you can get her back as well. Big hugs from Lala!

Bless you, bless you! You are a wonderful pet person! You would be welcomed and loved in my crazy animal-loving family!

I am so glad Raku is keeping you calm and sane....He looks like great company. And his rotundness will probably look after itself once he and you recover fully.

Hope the truck is repaired soon!

awwww . . . he looks tiny from the picture! I'm so glad for you that you have him with you now. Our pets are intuitive to our moods and feelings, it always amazes me because they seem to know when I need a hug even before I do. They are great comforters. I hope you get your dog back soon AND your vehicle.

I know how you feel how the whiplash feels worse after the pain killer is out of the system. Two weeks ago, my rotary cutter fell on my right foot. The first week I could not move at all so slept practically the whole day. This week was fine because of the pain killer but today arriving at work, the pain started again. I had to ask my friend to buy me lunch while I rested. Hopefully on Monday it will be better because I want to catch ANGELS AND DEMONS at the cinema (it is right next to the parking lot so I don't have to walk too far plus I think for a month I have not been out even to buy groceries - the longest I have been bound at home/home). Maybe I will have to drop quilting and get back to tatting where I won't use any sharp things, right?

It is wonderful you have such a loving companion to help you mend. I hope you are back to your sparkling self soon and that your whiplash effects won't take too long to get over. I like to think that when life gives you lemons make lemondade and then you can have a party! Hope you get your wheels and hubby back soon!

Hi Sherry!

I just re-read your post and it occurred to me that you named your cat after one of my favorite forms of pottery, Raku! Another pottery that I love is salt glazed. I'm a "puttering potter" and love the feel of clay in my hands shaping it into whatever was hidden within it. Maybe you can get back to pottery soon, as it is very therapeutic, such as our beloved animals are to us. I hope your husband is home soon and he brings great tidings to soothe your soul. God Bless you and Godspeed to your next destination, may it be exactly what your body (and spirit) needs to heal.

Sherry - Thanks for keeping us updated when you can. In reviewing your earlier posts I now realize how many years your husband has served, and how many times you've been through this kind of limbo. I also read about your trip to San Diego when you realized that the military is appreciated by many. This weekend I hope will reaffirm that appreciation. We owe so much to the fine men and women who serve - and wait.

On a lighter note, I somehow missed seeing those fabulous knitted socks at Shuttlebirds! Also, your kitty is SO cute. I know he'a comfort to you. Please know we are all thinking of you!
