CAMP WANNA GIGGLE

I had the best time at Camp Wanna Tat. There was more laughing, giggling and teasing going on than anything else. I made a lot of new friends, learned some new things and ate very well! Oh boy can these gals cook!
The first day we worked with single shuttle split rings and that afternoon we tatted this little beauty:

Tatted in size 80 "Majestic".
I just LOVE Camelia's pineapple designs. They are a joy to tat!

My new friend Karla taught me Lucet (I know, I know, it isn't tatting...but it IS something I have wanted to learn for awhile). Karla made a wonderful video on YouTube where you can learn it too.

I still need to perfect my tension. Currently I am working on a lucet cord in silk. I already have lots of ideas for using lucet cord with tatting.

The second day we received a delightful apron pattern from Irene Morgan. Unfortunately I have not yet finished tatting it because I was a "knotty" girl who was working on another project during this time.

I am happy to say that that "other" project was the last project I needed to finish for my Master's T.A.T. program. I cannot tell you how wonderful it felt to turn in the T.A.T.
I have been working on the program for nearly 3 years. If all goes well, I will have my Master's tatting certificate soon. Double WHOO HOO!!!

...and lastly I had the privilege of teaching a lesson on folded rings to my new buddies. It is a lesson which I plan to share here when I get a few minutes to do so.....Hmmmm....hopefully by the end of the year??? LOL

Congratulations on your Master's T.A.T. ! I just sent off for the apprentice phase - hopefully some day I will have a pin and not just a dusty binder!

The butterfly you made is GORGEOUS! The pineapple design is SO pretty.

I'm not able to open the lucet video so I will have to check that out later... or maybe I shouldn't,.. especially if it's another addictive hobby!

I went to camp wanna tat once and loved it, was intimidated by it, but would love to go again. I just wish it wasn't so far (which means expensive) to travel to.

Camilla is the queen of pineapples!

And Congrats on the T.A.T. Master's Program. I guess I've just lost interest in completing it for now. Maybe next year...

is the ppineapple a side-view butterfly, or will it get another wing?

Congrats on the on completing you T.A.T. masters! I've thought about doing this but just can't bring myself to start.

I heard about Camp Wanna Tat a few months ago and would love to have gone, but alas, it was not to be. Sounds like a lot of fun! The butterfly looks great.

Congratulations Sherry, what an accomplishment to finish your T.A.T program. good for you.
I like your Pineapple butterfly and yes, I started to do Lucet cords several months ago and also want to try to incorporate lucet and tatting. I have a booklet with instructions for doing a cord similar to the old Coronation cord but haven't been able to perfect the technique yet.

Oh Well Done and Congratulations. I really admire those who stick with a challenge; and, I know the goals set and passing each level isn't the easiest thing to do! I'm SO proud of you, with all the moving and upheavals; yet you FINISHED. GOOD OH!
LOVE, Bev

The butterfly is totally awesome! I just got a lucet a few months ago! It's a teeny tiny one that I can use with tatting thread...it's so cute! I'll have to show it sometime. I, too, have seen that video on YouTube! In fact, I think it's the one that made me want to learn it! I thought...what a perfect thing to make for a tatted drawstring bag because the tatted cords (usually spiral tatting) tend to get caught up in the lumpy tatting and this would go much smoother AND it will MATCH! :) hee hee!
