more experimental tatting

Photobucket
Here is Gina's June mystery motif once again. Again it is not perfect because I was still experimenting with stitches here and there. This one has a much more pronounced "swirly" effect. I think tatting this motif once more I could get it "bang on" with only a few minor changes to the original pattern.

Oh..in case you are wondering why I did this, there was some discussion how the mystery motifs that came back didn't quite have that "swirlyness" as the original. Of course I have the benefit of seeing what I am tatting and others did not, but for some reason I was really interested in this motif.
Everyone who participated in the "Mystery Motif", my hat's off to you! I cannot seem to tat without the visual.

This is tatted in size 20 "Hydrangea" silk tatting thread

I can't tat without a visual and I'm totally okay with that. I can tat with a photo and no pattern and I can tat the visual I see in my head. It works for me! I'm still growing and learning. Have fun tatting your motif. The colors are fun!

Great job Sherry! I missed yesterday's post but I see the chain you were talking about reversing. I think this is what Suzanne was talking about too - reversing the direction of the chain on the upswing. I clicked on your motif hoping to see it more close-up but just got a photo-bucket ad (I understand why) but I think that's what you've done. Okay...just read the previous entry more closely and yes, that's exactly what you say! LOL! How cool! Another little trick to keep in mind when designing! Thanks for pursuing this Sherry!

Mmm! This looks like a swirl of berry-liscious sherbet!
