Fun Stuff

Photobucket
Look what I got from Bonnie in the mail. I don't receive gifts of tatting very often and this is tatted with my very own hand dyed thread. Bonnie, thank you! Your tatting is immaculate and I love it, you made my day!

In the spirit of doing something nice for myself....(this might get out of hand) I purchased this lovely needleminder from Grizzly Mountain Arts. I have had my eye on these for awhile. I just love it!

These gorgeous and inspiring viney flowers just bloomed in my yard. Does anyone know what they are called?

The flowers are surely called beautiful and inspiration for some more HDT -- right?

Those beautiful flowers are almost the same color as the needle minder :)

The needle minder is gorgeous! Might have to check that out. The flowers look just like my Hybiscus blooms, but mine are not viney. They are trees. Let me know if you find out!

Yummy ice cream cone - almost as good as the one I just ate, except you get to always have yours there! I've looked at those needle minders too. Aren't they beautiful?
And the flowers remind me of nastursiums but I don't know that that is what they are but if they are, they are also edible - you can put them in ice cubes or decorate a slice of cake or a bowl of ice cream or whatever...I hope that's what they are.

Nope, you've got hubby stumped with the flowers! Aren't they beautiful, so Korea ain't that bad then!
Hope they are making you feel better! just don't take too many deep breaths smelling them.

The ice cream cone looks yummy! The needle minder is beautiful! Dave says the flower looks like allamanda, but the leaves don't. I hope you find out what it is!

It looks so close to hibiscus but the plants I know they are trees - not climbers. Let me search around more.
You actually gave me an idea for my next HDT - hibiscus but none are flowering in our garden yet but no worry, I'm tied down with my project.

I googled for it and came up with a scientific name Alyogyne Huegeli or common name blue hibiscus. One page (can't rmbr now) say it comes in pink or orange blooms.

The flowers are beautiful, I think they look a little like honeysuckle, but it's hard to say as I don't know the size of them.
I love your needleminder! I've had my eye on those beautiful cameo needleminders, too! They are so beautiful. They really have some beautiful things at Grizzly Mountain Arts. I love their shuttles, too! Bonnie did such a nice job on the ice cream cone, that's one of my fave patterns.
Happy Fourth of July!

Hi Sherry, It is not a Hibiscus. I am searching Gregg's plant reference books to see if I can find the flower. I love the needle minder I have been eyeing them myself.
