New shuttle and the "Squinchy face"

Newest silver shuttle can be found here.

Miss P just discovered a new face to try out. I call it the "squinchy face" and it isn't very pretty but it makes me laugh.

If anyone follows my MadMadPotter blog you know that I have undertaken a new endeavor. Every first Thursday of the month all the art galleries and art coops hold an open house. The artists are encouraged to attend so that customers can meet them. That is where I was last night meeting new people and talking about my work...my pottery work. But it is known that I am also a tatter and that is perking some interest. I am hoping to get a display together to put in the shop to draw people's interest and educate. Also, there is a very good possibility that I can teach tatting classes there as well.
Life one step at at time.

Ideas materializing

Remember this post about two weeks ago? After a lot and I mean a LOT of hard work this is where I am on this project. I am working on enameling now.

Here are some more PURE silver shuttles I am working on. They will be available in the shop very soon. There is a new product on the market that when applied to precious metal is supposed to prevent tarnishing. So I am giving that a go as well. I will be making some more copper shuttles soon....boy I tell ya, my "to do" list is growing and growing as I am trying to get used to the pace of being a new mom which means I can no longer guarantee when things will be finished. Ah well, I LOVE being a mom and much to my own surprise I am not so bad at it!
Health permitting there are a lot of exciting new things I will be adding to my Etsy shop for your pleasure!

Rio, Peach Pandorea, Etsy honors and updated Catalog

It has been over a year since I have dyed these two colorways. So I am re-introducing them.
PEACH PANDOREA

RIO

I have had the honor of being selected for three more Etsy treasuries in the past few weeks. It is always fun to see my thread included in these colorful collages.
MAGNOLIA

CONFETTI SPRINKLES

AUTUMN MEDLEY

To the right you can click on the Autumn Edition of my HDT catalog for the PDF. It has been updated!

As of today, I am 37 weeks pregnant and that officially makes Piccadilly a full term baby. I have to say, and I know this will sound crazy to millions of women since the last month is notoriously the least favorite, but these last two weeks have been the best of my pregnancy so far. Yes, I feel like a whale and it is difficult to sleep and everything hurts, but this is 100 times better than the last 8 months have been. Whoo hoo!

New and Old HDT's in the Shop

UNDERSEA GARDEN

For a time, as a child, I lived in Newport Oregon and I loved to visit the Undersea Gardens Aquarium. This limited colorway is inspired by those childhood memories.

COPPER PATINA

This is an exciting limited colorway inspired by working with copper in my studio.

COFFEE N CREAM

NEAPOLITAN

Oldies but goodies these two colorways have been slightly re-vamped and are ready to go.

How did the rest of my day go????

So I woke up soooo happy on Thursday right? I had a physical therapy appointment that afternoon as I have been suffering from severe migraines and being pregnant cannot take any medications for it. Anyway, I arrived at my appointment all happy and bragging about my weight gain and telling my therapist how things were looking up...and I kid you not, five minutes into my therapy session I puked in his garbage can. I continued to feel pretty sick for the rest of that day. I went to bed that night at about 8:00pm (I know, pathetic huh?) and then woke up in the middle of the night to drink some water and that gave me the worst heartburn ever so I couldn't go back to sleep. I spent all day yesterday feeling "wrecked" and again had a very violent "throwing up" session. I have no idea what has gone wrong. Last night I didn't sleep well because I had cramps in my tummy, legs and feet. In fact, this morning DH says I woke him in the middle of the night screaming and convulsing (his words). I don't remember that. But I do feel as though I have run a marathon this morning.
I don't feel super awesome today, but I have to say my spirits are still pretty high. I am still enjoying being able to read blogs again at least.
Oh well, I am going to do my best to not let this get me down again. Piccadilly is still doing awesome and that is the most important thing!

I am hoping to get these Tatting Hook Pens listed in my Etsy shop this weekend, along with some more ceramic shuttles and perhaps some new hand dyed thread, all depending upon how I am feeling.
...until next time...

The blossoming art of TATTING

Thanks to JoyofTatting for putting this together.
This is a day for all tatters to rejoice. Look at this Etsy treasury. A year ago it would not have been possible to fill a treasury with tatting....so Whoo Hooo for Tatting. It is growing and growing and tatting innovations are being discovered right and left and we have budding designers all over the planet.

It's happy dance time ya'll....yes I said YA'LL!

Small Honors

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Well, I checked my inbox this morning to find that I have been selected to be featured in one of Etsy's Treasuries.....not once but twice! YAY!
Treasury
Please visit it and leave a comment if you would. That will help the treasury move up the list of treasuries and help give more exposure to these artists.
You will recognize my shuttles. And my Celedon bowl (the first item) is from my MadMadPotter shop.
It is a treasury to honor Idaho artists!
What a great way to start the day!
