Time flies....

I woke up this morning to cooler temperatures and rain...it's beautiful! It's cool enough that I might actually get to wear socks today.
Did I mention that Autumn in my favorite time of year? LOL! So I decided to revisit one of my Autumn leaf patterns; this time in size 80 thread and I am working on a necklace here. I can't believe it's been a year since I designed this.....seriously where does the time go??

This is a work in progress, unblocked and the scan isn't even all that nice, but I wanted to share it anyway.

Tatting floating leaves

I have had so many new tatting designs floating around in my head and the last thing I should be doing right now is tatting, but I am afraid they will float away if I don't capture them now. I desperately need to get back to work in my studio, my hubby is starting to get irritated with me.
Anyhow, I have been working around the clock and I am hoping the book will be finished by the end of next week. It's unbelievable how many unforseen hurdles I have encountered in trying to get my ideas to materialize. I am having nightmares about margins. LOL!

Death by tatting leaves...

It looks like I am going to do this one to death, just as I did the grapes. What can I say? I get fixated on ideas sometimes.

I thought... could I?...maybe?... and yes it worked! I am tickled to say that this necklace is tatted in one continuous, unbroken thread. Whoo hoo!

"Autumn Leaf" 1 shuttle, 1 ball

I created this pattern to encourage you to use a lot of color. Don't be afraid to switch your ball thread. You only have to put a little thread in your shuttle and switch your ball threads each round. Leave your tails, they are great in this pattern so that you can encapsulate them with a josephine chain for the stem.

Now with all that said, I went ahead and tatted this up with 1 shuttle and 1 ball thread, I used CTM (which I shouldn't have) because I had nothing to encapsulate, so I just made a short chain for the stem. Anyhow, this is Marilee's new "Tiger Eye" thread and isn't it just gorgeous! Perfect for this pattern and perfect for those who aren't ready for so many colors in one pattern.

Counting my Blessings

No more fits of tears, my tatting friends have succeeded in cheering my spirits. Thank you all. You are truly caring and special people. I am very thankful for the tatting community. I will try to focus on my blessings rather than all that other lame stuff.

THE Teri "Tatbit" Dusenbury sent me a package that couldn't help but lift my spirits and which arrived at the most appropriate time. I am now part of the bear clan and should not get eaten this winter whilst snowboarding and wearing my wonderful knitted disquise:

She also gave me some neat thread I can't wait to try, some bolo findings so that I can make a bolo tie for my grandad, and the most amazing bracelet ever!


The backside is just a pretty as the front. I will treasure it always!
