All smiles

I woke up in a SPLENDID mood this morning (at 4:00am...can't sleep). It must be all the prayers, thoughts and kindness that has been sent my way! It's working guys!
I am off to try and catch up on blogs. In the meantime I will leave you with small gift.

This picture is kinda how I am feeling today...all exploding with color!

GEEZ Louise!

Right then!

I hadn't realized so much time has passed since my last post. My household items FINALLY arrived this past Friday which means I have frantically been trying to unpack and settle in. Why frantically? Would you believe I am expecting family to visit any day now? I am up to my armpits in boxes...(truthfully the pile is actually over my head). Anyhow, I am looking around and I realize being settled in this week is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN; especially with this 105-110 degree heat we are having... and have I failed to mention that I have a terrible case of bronchitis???

OH mercy me!

My hubby is home for a few days and I am sooooo happy to have him. This being apart all the time is killing me. I mean seriously why the heck did I get married in the first place if I never get to see hubby. It's like I have all the responsibilities of being married but none of the privileges..LOL!

Hubs is my best friend in all the world and we have made it 13 years together so I suppose I could hang on a little longer.

I wish I had some tatting to share...but current circumstances have put the stopper on any of my creative activities for awhile.

Even with all of these troubles, I am still so very happy and thankful to be home. I love my home...I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT!!!

I will be even happier when I get settled in and get my pottery studio running. Until then, I apologize for the lack of posties here.

Snowed in

This is a completely non-tatting related blog but I just HAD to share!

Apparently South Korea has gotten their (10 year) snow storm and I couldn't be happier!

Summer Tatting Exchange

Well in spite of my rotten luck with secret exchanges in the past (9 out of 10 exchanges I have been forgotten and left to feel very sorry for myself) I decided to join the "Here be Tatters" summer exchange. I know that exchanges are about the giving and not the receiving, but it is nice to be acknowledged in the very least.
Anyhow I am very excited to send my partner her package. I just finished it up and I decided to share one very small part of what is included.

I won't say anything about it and since it is just one of many items it won't spoil the surprise. Hmmmmm....I wonder who my partner could be????
It seems like everyone has joined this exchange and it is going to be so fun at the end of the month to see what everyone has given and gotten.

I still have not found out what these flowers are yet. Everyone has been really helpful...but there has not been a definitive answer yet. I am on the fence about them being Hibiscus ...because they don't have that large phallic stem in the middle.
We had a monsoon yesterday which knocked most of the blooms off. But hubby was nice enough to take this picture so that you smarties out there can get a better size reference.

I had enough energy today to do a little exercise...which is a BIG deal. I think I am on the mend.

Non Tatting Post

Photobucket
While my sister was visiting, I finally got the chance to try on the renaissance dress that I purchased awhile back. Putting on the costume is definately a two person job and I can see why there was a need for "Lady's Maids" back in the day. It took about 40 minutes to get into and all put together. It would take much longer to finish all the other little details like make up, hair and jewelry. Anyhow, I really like the dress, it is ever so detailed. It is also very heavy...about 20 pounds. It needs some adjusting to fit me better...or if I could just gain some weight in the right places...
Ah well.

I also wanted to brag on our own Elizabeth, she created this gorgeous Etsy Treasury.
